TETSUNORI TAWARAYA
Tetsunori Tawaraya is a Japanese musician and artist known for his work in graphic art, as well as for his role as guitarist and vocalist in the noise-punk band 2up (Up Up). He was born in Miyagi Prefecture and is currently based in Tokyo. In the late 1990s, he began drawing portraits of people and musicians in San Diego, California, and energetically produced sci-fi and experimental graphic novels. He was based in San Diego until 2007, during which time he was active with the band Dmonstrations. His grotesque yet colorful world has earned acclaim across generations. He has released books using silkscreen and risograph printing through Colour Code, Hollow Press, and Le Dernier Cri. He has also released collaborations with several apparel brands, and his work has been highly acclaimed.
