Le fond rouge mat et la technique de l’or “à l’effet” caractérisent le savoir-faire des décorateurs parisiens, au tout début du XIXe siècle. Après cuisson, à l’aide de pierres dures extrêmement fines, l’or mat est poli à certains endroits, révélant ainsi motifs, paysages et scènes variées. Et pour plus de raffinement, l’artiste de la manufacture Pouyat a utilisé ici des ors de diverses couleurs.
