“In Aix-en-Provence, under our feet and all around, we only find earthenware. That’s why Picasso’s vases are often red ocher and that’s why we are earthenware makers.

When Léonie Buffile created the workshop in 1945, she borrowed a Chinese porcelain bowl from which she took a mold. This bowl has accompanied the workshop's production for three generations. It has become in a way for the Buffile a Sino-Provençal bowl. This curious attachment to porcelain has always been with us and the encounter with Atelier B and porcelain was inevitable. The desire to work with this material has been in us for a long time. The HIGH temperature! This high temperature which was a little inaccessible for us.
