Treasures for the home
Porcelain has been featured in unique collections like the Park Avenue Collection created by Olivier Gagnère for the 1999 opening of Bernardaud’s Park Avenue boutique in New York City. Composed of variously sized tables (e.g. of the pedestal and dressing variety), this collection combined ‘‘white gold’’ with several varieties of wood used to clad an invisible metal frame resulting in a look of lightness.
Interested in decoration of all types, Olivier Gagnère has also created chandeliers and wall sconces. In one case, he juxtaposed an engraved bisque votive tumbler with an enamel plaque decorated with motifs, achieving a striking contrast between matte and glossy textures.
Since then, door knobs and cabinet knobs have been added to the Park Avenue collection. They harmonize with a variety of decorative motifs and patterns. They also illustrate another major strong point: porcelain is washable and easy to keep clean.
Other Bernardaud products also capitalize on this practical advantage, such as bathroom accessories and decorative plates for electrical wall switches. Ideal for use in homes, restaurants and hotels, these items are simple, convenient, go with any style of decoration and can be custom ordered.
Many famous interior designers (e.g. Olivier Gagnère, Jacques Garcia, India Mahdavi, Pierre-Yves Rochon, Philippe Starck and Adam Tihany) have included these Bernardaud products in their design projects all over the world.
