Under Louis XV, the well-known Charles-Raymond Granchez and other marchands merciers, the interior decorators of the time, were taste-makers at court. They started fashions and informed the Manufacture de Sèvres about the latest trends to follow. This cup, painted by Boulanger père, is a good example. Extremely modern for the day and age, it innovated by covering the entire cup and saucer with a regular grid pattern of pale green leaves interlaced with leaves of gold.

All Bernardaud porcelain pieces – dinnerware sets, jewelry, candleholders, lamps, vases and other decorative objects – are very easy to clean using the soft side of a scrub sponge, warm water and regular dishwashing liquids. However, make sure never to use the abrasive side of the sponge.
