Tea Time

March 03, 2024 14:00

☕ We owe the tradition of Afternoon Tea to the Duchess of Bedford. In 1842, finding the time between the day’s two meals too long, she asked to be served tea, bread and butter in the afternoon. Today, to organize an English-style tea party, here’s the ritual to follow:
⏰ Send invitations by 5-6pm.
🫖 A tea set consists of a teapot, creamer, sugar bowl and cups.
♨️ Choose porcelain over silverware to keep your tea warm without burning your fingers. Sprinkler, sugar tongs or tea strainers, bring out your finest treasures! 🌿 Prefer loose tea and adapt the temperature and infusion time according to the type of tea.
🥛 Be careful not to overfill the cups to leave everyone the choice of adding milk or sugar.
🛋️ Plan to serve tea in the living room, on a coffee table without a tablecloth; High Tea, on the other hand, is served at the table.
🥪 Place sandwiches, scones and pastries on the three-tier tray.
💂 And above all, enjoy this so British moment !
