After three years of research and development, Bernardaud is pleased to present Brasilis, a collection of furniture created in collaboration with the Campana Brothers, highlighting the unique and ancestral know-how of the Limousin region in chestnut woodworking and porcelain.

Combining the raw beauty of wood with that of porcelain, these pieces can be used as a bar, a bookcase or even a cabinet of curiosities... Each of these pieces of furniture, produced in an edition of eight, can be seen as totems once closed.

The Brasilis cabinets combine two very specific skills from the Limousin region. The structure of the furniture in chestnut wood was made by the Manufacture des Sièges d’Argentat, the chestnut strips were assembled one by one by Alain Dupasquier, carpenter and “feuillardier” (cabinetmaker specialized in chestnut wood), and the porcelain plaques were made in the workshops of the Bernardaud manufacture in Limoges.

The decorated porcelain plaques - 72 for the low cabinet - appear delicately set with chestnut strips, each one carefully adapted to the design of the furniture, making these cabinets custom-made pieces. As their names suggest, both decorations depict Brazilian flora and fauna. The Campana Brothers, like whistleblowers, wanted to represent endangered species. A way for them to look at the current situation of their country, a real jewel with several threatened ecosystems; totems that can be seen as a testimony on the issue of the Anthropocene.
