Born in Dakar, Senegal in 1980, Omar Victor Diop’s work combines the visual arts, fashion and photographic portraiture, drawing inspiration from historical and contemporary references, as well as from the world of fashion and design. This collaboration gave him the opportunity to create in three dimensions for the first time.This porcelain self-portrait opens a new page in his artistic work. The many references and symbols present in the work make him one of a long line of Africans who once travelled the world to immerse themselves in it and leave their mark.
