RENE CREVEL

In 1925, the French artist and interior decorator René Crevel successfully competed for the commission to decorate the ceramics pavilion of the International Exposition of Modern Industrial and Decorative Arts in Paris. He created its decorative panels and wallpaper, as well as six vases to be produced by porcelain manufacturers in Limoges. Combining the landscape and figurative genres with rare virtuosity, these vases were the first regional manifestations of the Art Deco style. Bernardaud brought out the first edition of this vase – exotic and lyrical in its decoration – and is planning to repeat this exploit to round out the house collection of rare «limited edition» pieces.
