Q. Where do you find your inspiration?
K.H.: In the colours of the Nagara River and Mount Kinka in Gifu, where some of my works are installed.
Q. What do Limoges and Bernardaud mean to you?
K.H.: It was in 1996 that I stayed at the École des Beaux-Arts in Limoges, France, to create porcelain works. For me, that time provided invaluable experience that shaped my subsequent artistic practice. While I had always hoped to return to Limoges someday, I received an offer to participate in a project organized by Bernardaud. Feeling as though I were reuniting with old friends, I created these works while reminiscing about the Limoges I knew.
Conceived as a creative laboratory, the Éditions Nomades invite artists to reinterpret the iconic porcelain Mug Nomade by featuring one of their works on its surface. Each collaboration results in a unique, non-reissued edition, making every piece a singular creation at the intersection of art, design, and everyday use.
