Identical replica of a 1804 cup and saucer. Resembling a chalice, it stunningly combines the two contrasting sides of Joséphine - the austere politician and the alluring Empress. Her severe side can be seen through the cup’s empire green color and golden lining, while her charming side is reflected in its gently curved shape and the delicate golden flowers adorning the green background. This charm is complemented by the portrait of the young Empress, her subtle beauty being enhanced by a wonderfully ornate frame. This exquisite portrait was painted by Madame Jacquotot, one of the finest artists of the Manufacture de Sèvres.
